Shadowplay Issue

I was playing my game, try to save my shadow footage, the grey/green shadowplay box gets a Cross through it and then the game crashes. Shadowplay produced a 3.8GB file, but nothing can read it, they say it is corrupt. my question is, has this happened to anyone else? and is there any way to recover the footage? as i would really like to have it.
