I got a TP-Link Archer T8E dual band wifi card for a new rig that I was building. I plugged in the card correctly and and system could detect it. I installed the driver that was on the disc that came with the card. Now my rig is able to see all the wifi connections nearby but can't connect to my home wifi connections. The rig is running Windows 10. I contacted TP-Link who told me to contact my ISP, both were unsuccessful in troubleshooting the problem. Could someone help me figure out how to fix this problem?

Just curious, does the card not "see" your internet, or does the card not connect to your internet after being detected? Don't forget you need to insert your home wifi passcode.

It sees all the wifi connections nearby, including my home wifi connections. I was able to enter the password for the wifi connection, it was able to connect but it was not able to obtain a connection.

Let me get this straight.....  Quote: it was able to connect but it was not able to obtain a connection".  Something just not right with that sentence.  How could it connect and not connect at the same time?  Does it connect or not?  Does it connect and not "maintain" a connection?  There is a difference.  If it does see your internet and connects but does not maintain the connection then there is a problem.  Need to determine what the problem is in maintaining the connection.

How far away from the router is the computer?  Are there walls between the computer and the router?  What are the walls made of?  Are they regular standard walls you would find in any house in America or are they made out of concrete cinder blocks?  Is the computer on the same floor as the router or is the router down in the basement or up in the attic of the house?

If the computer "sees" the router and you are able to enter the passcode and the code is accepted, then you have access to the internet but it seems as though the problem is the computer is located too far from the router or is behind some wall or something that is blocking the signal.

Just things to consider.
