Hey everyone,

Yesterday i finally received my gtx 1080 ftw2, but it hasn't been as amazing as i hoped. Some noticeable benchmarks were scoring an overall 13836 in firestrike with the base settings, and a 2656 in heaven 4.0 with maxed settings at 1080p. I feel like it is underperforming, possibly due to my cpu. Since I didn't expect this 1080, my cpu is an i5-7400. Is my gpu grossly underperforming and should I RMA it?

All help would be amazing.

Heaven score seems right, this guy got 2712 with a slightly more powerful CPU. Which heaven does not require at all, muy who know what you have in background. That's -2% variation.

This other guy got 13149 on firestrike which adds up to +5% variation.

We are speaking of margin of error performance delta here... your GPU is not grossly underperforming as you claim and you should not RMA it because of bad performance. It's margin of error.

What i do believe is you got mixed 1080 and 1080 Ti results, or you are very over dramatic about margin of error synthetic results, which is not a proper cause to RMA anything, but who knows maybe they actually let you.

If you don't like how your rig is performing, (something that i get from your only two posts on this forum one for bad cpu scores and the other for bad gpu scores in synthetics) You should buy a more powerful one. In the order of 7900X, 1080Ti. But let me tell you, you won't be on the top of the charts. That place if full of people pumping LN2 on their CPUs to get insane scores. Never happening on a 24/7 rig by a long shot.

Let that sink and come again if any other question comes to mind.

Cheers!
