Either would work well. The NH-U9S is a bit better.

Hi, I have an i7 7700k kaby lake(not overclocking) and the temperature when idle is 40 Celsius and when under load(witcher 2) it's 80 Celsius and sometimes spike to 90-95 Celsius.

the weird part is when I play FIFA 17( a less demanding game but some say that is cpu demanding) the temp is 90 celsius and sometimes spikes to 100 Celsius.

if it matters my temperature in my home is 24-26 Celsius

my build is:

mobo: MSI z270 pro mate

CPU COOLER: arctic alpine 11 plus

GPU: Gigabyte g1 gaming 1070

CASE: Corsair spec alpha

does the temperature that I get is normal and if not what should I do?

thanks in advance.

40C idle isn't all that bad.

Your load temps are high because that heatsink is pretty weak. Definitely not something I'd want on a 7700k, even at stock

Have you tried re-seating the cooler? And yeah that cooler looks like it's even worse than an Intel stock

so which cpu cooler do you recommend to buy?

I forgot to write that the cpu usage is max 20 percent.

I haven't tried to re-seating the cooler, if I will try to re-seat will I need to clean the cpu and the cpu cooler from the thermal paste?

I tried to search for a better cpu cooler but all of them were higher than the case cpu cooler restriction.

the cooler restriction is 156mm

I forgot to write that the cpu usage is max 20 percent.

The i7 7700k has a TDP of 91W and the cooler is rated at 90W. You won't get any improvement reseating it. Is the size restriction height or width?

If I use words like probably or most likely, it is because I dislike certainty. These words can probably be omitted and the sentence read as a certainty.

the restriction is height,  there is no mention of width restriction in the installation guide that comes with the case.

You have a fair bit of room in that case. You could get most air coolers and it would work. Feel free to link one and ask if it will fit. However if you want to get into overclocking you could get a ~$50 all in one.

I don't really want to overclock because I think the performance is great at stock and from knowing myself I will probably mess something up, I looked at the Noctua nh-d14 but I saw the height of the cooler is 160mm, same problem with the Thermaltake Riing 12 Pro.

the Noctua NH-D9L will fit and also the Arctic Freezer i32 CO but I don't know what to choose.

I am open to suggestions because i don't know what is the best cooler for my system.

I don't think you will see an appreciable difference in temps between the two. I would go with the noctua fan but only because, imo, it looks better in a case with a clear panel.
