Hey guys. So trying upgrade my current potato that is a old Dual Core E5700 to something newer. Right now i want something budget oriented and from what i found out the i3 7100 and the  Intel G4600 have the same similar performance standards... only one been slightly cheaper. So now i'm undecided what motheboard to pick. I want something that can be a little future proof if i want to upgrade from that G4600 to an I5 down the lane. Right now i don't need a ATX MB since i only use one GTX 1050ti and probably wont upgrade the GPU in the nearest future so I'd stick to the Micro-ATX side. I want something that is reliable, with good audio and some decent expandability. I dont need USB 3.0 since none of my devices that i own have that sort of ports. My location is Romania and my budget for this is probably 400 Euro. That's for the CPU/MB/RAM. My local online shopping stores are PCGARAGE and EMAG. Any suggestions?

From what it looks like you mad a good choice so far:

  • G4560 (or another pentium of that family depending on current pricing is recommeded)
  • ATX is not really a must. Even though mATX can look dumb in an ATX case and you don't need all slots an ATX would give you in comparison any mATX or ATX mobo with 4 ram slots, decent port layout and a good audio solution should suffice
  • you should be getting 8GB of RAM in either 1x8GB or 2x4GB depending on what is cheaper
  • From what I understand you already have a 1050 Ti
  • What PSU (power supply unit) do you have?
  • What case do you have?
  • Do you already hav storage? Preferably a solid state drive for booting and generall snappiness.

I will have a look into it.

Well i was thinking to get 2x8GB dual channel memory since it's good to have dual lane memory and I'm using the PC mostly for gaming in general. As for the PSU it's a Corsair CX550 and the case i haven't really picked up any atm since I'm looking into that but i was thinking something along the line  of NZXT S340 Black or the Zalman Z9 Neo. No right now i have two mechanical drives that I'm using

I was mistaking one my first read. I think you can fit 16GB in there but if it frees up more of you budget I woudl defintely get 8Gb for now and increase to 16 later since tht can usually be easily done.

Well the difference between the G4600 and the G4620 is a 3% performance for almost 20 euro. And as far as memory yeah i can downgrade to 8GB right now
