So I have plans to buy the Cryorig R1 for my cpu and I'm not too sure on how to configure the fans in my case for this setup.

Specs: i7 5820k, X99 Taichi, Diamond R9 290, NZXT Phantom Crafted

If someone could help me with a fan setup that would be great, in this previous thread I was given an idea for a fan setup but was also suggested to get more opinions on it via a new thread.

My current fan configuration is this: Rear - intake, side panel - two intake, front - exhaust, top - exhaust.

On the side panel I have room for a 200mm fan thats next to the GPU.

On the top I have room for another 200mm fan.

Another question I have is: What is TDP, and how does it affect cooling? On the CPU the TDP is 140 W, and the TDP on the R1 is 250 W. Does this mean that the cooler is more than capable of cooling the CPU at stock speeds?

TDP or Thermal Design Power, is the maximum power your CPU is designed to draw. The more power it draws the more heat it creates. So yes the cooler should be more than enough at stock speeds but that is under ideal conditions where you have good airflow, a cool environment, etc. As for the fan config I would have the CPU cooler blow toward the rear fan and switch that to exhaust. Then switch the front fan to intake so you can get some nice flow straight through the system.

Okay, that makes sense. Also when you say cool environment for an ideal situation how cool are we talking? Cause the room my pc is in can get a bit hot. Not unbearable but warm. My GPU doesn't help with this either.

You don't need it freezing but having a room above 90F will probably start to degrade cooling performance, the CPU can only get as cool as the air around it.
