My PC during almost any activity freezes and I am having a realy hard time troubleshooting.
The system was running fine until a month ago started freezing seemingly at random.

Since then I have in order to solve the problem:
- Reinstalled the OS
- Checked the reliability monitor that only shows as a criticality a "Not proper shut down"
- Checked the temperatures durring crashes with openhardwaremonitor (seem fine)
- Changed drives i went from SSD boot drive and HDD to a bigger SSD
- Used Memtest to check the ram
- Removed and tried memory sticks one by one

By "freezing" I mean that:
the last immage diplayed by the screen stays there and the audio stops
pc fans continue spinning an the hardware seems likely still running
hdd lights stay in the status they were when the freeze occur
the system is unresponsive, input by keyboard and from the case power button are ignored
the only way for shutting the pc down is by using the reset o hard press the power button

Freezes happen when:
- Unpackaging large file from an external drive (45 gb) (reliable)
- Using prime95 in custom mode stressing the ram (somewhat reliable)
- Downloading big files from steam or battle.net (>10 gb) (somewhat reliable)
- Playing Overwatch (High Load), Fallout 4 (High Load), Elder Scroll Legends (Low Load) (unreliable)
- Browsing Youtube (unreliable)

Freezes do NOT happen when:
- Using prime95 in Small FFTs
- Using 3DMark
- Browsing mostly text based sites

The PC that I'm having trouble with is a desktop I assembled myself.
Here are the specs (Component [Date]):
OS - Windows 10 x64 [06/2017]
CPU - AMD FX 9590 [07/2014]

What cooler do you have on that 9590 and what are your temps? That thing comes with a 220w TDP, I wouldn't be surprised if it's overheating.

Quote me to see my reply!
