I dont know much about networking but my internet is not super amazing so I dont know if I can cheap out on this or get a good one. Any suggestions on what adapter to get? Thanks for reading.

1. Do you mean PCIe?

2. What connection standard are you using? a/b/g/n/AC/AD?

I don't think you could get AC speeds if you want it for $30

Lowest you can get is around $45 on Newegg https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166124&ignorebbr=1&cm_re=wifi_card_for_desktop-_-33-166-124-_-Product

Oh dang thats expensive. What am I giving up if i dont get one thats supports AC speeds?

It's not within range, but it's what I would consider close enough

It would be something to do with your router settings then. You've stated that it says AC, that means your router can use the AC standard.

Personally I would spend the extra $5, but if you're really not interested then just go for the n standard.
