I was thinking of getting the ax860i for my fx 9590 build, cause most of my stuff is from corsair. But from what I have seen, despite amazing reviews from jonnyguru and so on...A lot of issues have been reported about this particular ax psu on youtube and in forums. Have these issues been fixed since or should I go for the hx850i/rm850i/rm850x? (Or 1000w variants). I'd honestly prefer to get the ax860i but if it has reliability issues, then I'm happy to go for one of the others.

I'd preferably want the most reliable of the 3.(ax/hx/rm) Bare in mind, I don't want this post to be more about the fx 9590, that clearly isn't the topic here, cause people tend to go and moan about that instead normally.

I was one of the guys having issues with his AX860i, random shutdowns, boot loops etc.

After a year or so of using this cursed thing I wrote Corsair about it and they did send a replacement unit to me with express shipping before I even shipped them my unit. I instantly noticed a different packaging so I assume there is a new revision out by now (all of this happened approx. three months ago).

Since the exchange I had exactly zero issues and everything runs perfectly. But the truly great part was Corsairs customer service, money well spent in this regard.

So yeah, go for an AX860i but make sure not to get an old unit. Alternatively shoot for an Seasonic PRIME.

they even extended the warranty for already sold units(from 7 to 10 years) which was a awesome move

Mer personally, i go with RM750X. Its the best PSU in its price and offers a significantly better value than AX/HX series.

And Gold/Platinum rating isn't going to be noticeable anyway.

Ps: i do wonder why you pick 9590

Thanks for the help guys! I think I'll try out the ax860i and see how it goes. Would I better buying it straight from corsair's website to ensure a new revision, or is it okay to buy from the places that are cheapest? (Ebuyer, Alza, Amazon etc)

I'd just not get an AX860i. You don't need one. Get a Corsair RMi/RMx instead.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
