Catalyst Control Centre won't open. When I start it, I get the error message "Catalyst Control Center cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using Catalyst Control Center.". I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, rebooting, nothing works. What do? My graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 3870, and I'm running Windows 10 64-bit.

You'll need to update it to the Radeon Crimson software as CCC is really old.

Uninstall CCC, install Crimson and reboot.

I uninstalled CCC, downloaded the autodetect/install crimson and drivers program, and after scanning for hardware, it said "Components already installed.".

Yeah, which opened the catalyst uninstall manager and allowed me to remove everything except said catalyst uninstall manager

So you uninstalled, rebooted, tried to install Radeon Crimson software ?

No worries dude, just keep me posted! Hopefully it'll behave.

Rebooted, tried to install Crimson, and it said it couldn't as it didn't recognize my GPU. Looked it up, it doesn't support legacy Radeon HD cards. Fresh reinstalled a newer version of Catalyst, still the same error.

Hmm, that's not sounding good, maybe CCC is just borked for you, was it running fine or did you run any recent updates to CCC?

Only thing I've done recently is upgrade to Windows 10. It worked fine on Windows 7. The newest OS it supports on the downloads page is Windows 8, so that could be it, but it should still work fine.

Yeah sounds like Win10 is the issue here, not much we can do about that sadly (still odd that it won't work) other than a rollback or GPU update (pricey stuff!) not sure what can be done.

Yeah. Well, it isn't impacting much, I just can't adjust my settings until I get a new GPU. I'm planning on buying a cheap GTX460 used or something soon, so I'll just deal with it for a little. Thanks anyway!

AMD software is kind of bitchy about .NET Framework. Make sure you install the latest .NET framework or catalyst will refuse to open and or install.

If this doesn't fix it, roll back to a previous windows version and try again. W10 is full of shit with older hardware.

GL!
