Hello, I was hoping anyone would be able to help me with an issue I'm having. My audio doesn't seem to be working right, and I've been stuck on this for hours over a couple days. I just recently build my new PC, I've went through updated all the drivers, and even uninstalled and reinstalled the latest Realtek HD Aduio driver one a couple time. But neither Mic's nor speakers will work, for some reason the headset speakers work fine though, but traditional ones are a no go. I've also checked settings under Recording devices, the mic is being detected, but no sound is being picked up under Recording devices, only a small spike of green when I do stuff on the mic. All applies to both front and back audio ports. I've tried a couple headsets, one with a single 3.5 plug for audio/mic and one with split 3.5 audio and mic plug. So if anyone has some ideas. At this point I can't only think my motherboard is messed up, or some software thing I'm unaware of, since the headset audio works, but not speakers.

If your headset sound is working its more than likely not the motherboard. Is your headset a usb headset? If yes, then it is using separate drivers and this is likely why the headset sound is working and not the "speaker" sound. If no, and there is only 3.5mm connectors, than it is more likely to be a hardware issue.

I would completely uninstall the audio drivers on my PC and start from scratch. Be sure to also check your windows (and headset) settings for audio, just to rule out any wonky settings

Don't forget to quote me (or someone else), otherwise we aren't going to receive your answers...

Nope, all of them use 3.5 jacks, and all work on everything aside from my computer. Both sets of speakers and 3 headsets/earbuds. But also didn't work through a USB to audio adapter. I've uninstalled and reinstalled everything, and even wiped and reinstalled windows.
