The 580s are used to mine Eth mostly which is Asic resistant, you need a GPU to do it well (ASICs are more for BTC).

dont worry, im not going to ask how to mine.

 

The question is why AMD cards?

Like i understand why in general, but why not ASIC cards? from what i understand, even cheap usb ASIC miners do better than GPU miners. And theyre more effecient and dont run as hot..

Wouldnt that be better than buying out the entire market of RX580s before they even hit shelves
