I would go for the 270. Honestly, you won't notice any difference between the 270 and 7870, but the 270 is newer and it also sheds a 6pin power connector. So you only need 1 6pin power connector. Either way, it doesn't matter performance wise. Just get the one that is either; cheaper or looks better for his build.

If those don't matter, go with the 270.
