Maybe not, But I'm betting it has a higher IPC, and it's got 4 threads, so it's not too terrible. People game on i3s all the time, and this is basically an i3 that only costs $60. Plus, it'll let you upgrade to a (i'd recommend used) i5 or i7 in the future.

Anything you buy will perform better than your current APU.But even though it's based on Kaby Lake,I don't think the Pentium g4560 is a practical choice.But what you are planning to do with your new CPU is a major issue.If you want to run e-sports titles,G4560 will do just fine.But if you want to also run anything else than e-sports titles,I suggest buying something better.Save up some more money and buy Ryzen 5 1400 or 1500x.But this is just my opinion of course...
