Friend needs some help....

So my friend wants an RGB build, that syncs with itself and what not. he sent me this build https://pcpartpicker.com/list/mbcKD8

7700k, GTX 1050ti, and all these overpriced bits and pieces that make no sense to me. like his hdd is for surveillance yet he isnt going to use it for that. he doesnt have any security system or what not.

 

main games hes going to play....Minecraft, 7 days to die, and other similar to that. most cpu/gpu intense game he might play, is Ark: Survival Evovled, GTA5, and Andromeda MAYBE (doesnt know if he wants it or not)

 

His budget is 1600$ USD including windows 10 key license - case must have side window - RGB

I was thinking something along these lines maybe, but change if needed - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/DppPTH and then tell him to get an AM4 motherboard bracket for that cooler. please critique

Your Ryzen build looks better.. I can't imagine spending $1500 on a new build and only having a GTX 1050 Ti to drive my games.

 

One thing to note is your Phanteks Enthoo Evolv ITX wont fit a mATX motherboard. I have that case in my daily driver ITX build, and I'm pretty sure it's strictly for mini ITX. There are mATX versions of the Enthoo Evolv though: http://www.phanteks.com/Enthoo-Evolv-mATX-TemperedGlass.html

did i make a mistake?? omg  i feel dumb for not catching that mini-itx case...my bad. Thank you for catching that! i think the enthoo you posted is what i was looking at and got sidetracked from it.
