I just got a new monitor 144hz with G-Sync.  I wanted to experience higher refresh rates.  I was playing Doom with in-game V-Sync off.  When V-Sync is off the games FPS goes up to 200 which is not stable.  I managed to make it stable by using riva tuner and capping it to 144hz.  Here's what I need to know.  Does capping the frame rate using riva tuner cause input lag?  What's the best way to cap frame rate without any losing any input lag.

well running 200 fps is actually the lowest possible input lag you can get, even though your monitor is only 144hz. but if you want to leave g-sync operational cap framerates to 142-143fps with either rivatuner or in-game frame limiter. this way if fps spikes it won't accidentally disable g-sync. alternatively you can turn on fast sync which is in the NVIDIA settings, which helps with tearing anomalies when fps is higher than refresh rate

you can cap it at 144hz with riva tuner or you can use Vsync, both will have the same effect...i usually use both
