Would this work seemlessly?

So I'm visiting my grandparents house but they don't have a wireless access point and service is really bad there, so I was gonna bring my access point but would it be just plug and play or would I have to set it up again cause it's on a different network.

if it is a pure access point without any router or DHCP stuff then you can plug it into any existing network.
