Hello!

I'm going to upgrade my i5 6400 to AMD Ryzen 7 CPU and for that I of course need to change my motherboard. I'm wondering that do I need to do something before changing the motherboard? Uninstall drivers for example? I have FPP license for Windows and if I  have understood correctly I don't need to install WIndows again, right?

Thank you!

Changing from Intel to AMD would mean a Windows reinstall, its possible without but not recommended.

@Master Disaster I have my OS on a SSD and all my games and on a HDD. Do I need to delete them from the HDD now and then re-install them after I have done the upgrade?

Steam library or disc installs?

Disc installs will need reinstalling too but Steam, Origin, Uplay and GOG are all very good at reacquiring old files.

@Master Disaster Steam. So no need to re-install everything?

Nope, after the reinstall goto Steams options, create a steam library folder, point it to your existing folder and it will import your games.
