I personally use my ModMic with a pair of ATH R70x headphones, and I love it the combo. It should work well with any Audio Technicas!

Well, @Tacanacy - Nobody objective actually had their hands on the real Minimic yet, so we have no info on how it actually sounds. Unless you want to take the mfg's word for it :). There's a reason we don't have any sound tests of our own product on our site! Haha, who'd believe it? So far the only possible decent comparison was their live stream, which didn't impress me much.

Nice, didn't see that @Tacanacy

So the video in question is this one, I have time stamped it at the comparison:

What you'll notice is the minimic is much 'sharper' in its peaks, causing a much more harsh sound. Despite its placement further away from the breath stream it picks up a lot more hard S or sibilant sounds. Frank could have improved the ModMic performance by moving it a little further back from the corner of his mouth, as its slightly in the breath stream as it is. You'll noticed that especially with the Ps in the word price point.

Construction worries are just speculation, but I would be greatly concerned with the gooseneck as a fail point, along with other places that lack strain relief for the wires.

In the end, it is up to @XIIGravity to decide, but thanks for sending along this video Tacanacy!

Edit: Also I'm not a fan of the mute switch, which is a linear slider. The pro is you won't get a little 'pop' sound when you mute. The con is you'll not be able to mute it all the way (and is likely to be a major fail point as well).

I would advise against the Mod Mic. While it sounds great its bulky with the extra cord. I couldn't get over how you can feel the weight of the cables while wearing the headset.
