Hi there,

I got an old intel s5000 palr server motherboard.

Paired with: 16gb ddr2 (fbdimm) and 2x  intel xeon l5420,

this is my based computer plattform.( Cant afford a GPU yet -.-)

When I switch on the power supply several things happen:

-Cpu cooling fans are blowing

-the "ID-LED" lights up for about 2 secs.

-the "Sytsem-Status-LED" begins blinking (green).

So far so good, but the system doesnt seem to execute its BIOS,

because my sreen doesnt get any signal.

Here are the things I tried to solve the Problem:

-Turn on and off the pc several times

-plug and unplug the VGA cable from the pc and my screen

-press the front panel"s power button several times

the system doesnt show me BIOS on my sreen.

Waht can you suggest to do, in order to solve the Problem?

Haaave you reset the bios?

The board could have had a dedicated GPU running on it with the BIOS set to output to that instead of the integrated.

Worth a shot.

How do I reset the BIOS ?

unplug from mains power, hold the power button for a few seconds to discharge capacitors, remove CMOS battery, let it discharge for a couple minutes, put CMOS battery back in, plug into mains power, see if that worked.

exclude faulty components by using only one CPU and one ram stick. try both sockets and different ram placements (keep in mind that each socket has its own set of DIMMS)

Tried that but didn't change anything at all :(
