Office file backup and easy access solution.

Hi guys,

 

I currently work for a e-commerce provider. 

 

We're looking for a backup utility, this could be standalone or part of a nas product. 

we want it to be able to grab set file directory's from our laptops or pc's whether we're at home or in the office and load 

them all onto the storage device. We also want to be able to easily look through and access these files

wherever we are.

 

Does any one have an idea of someone who provides a reasonably priced software or piece of hardware

which can facilitate this?

 

We do not really want to rely on a cloud based solution due to security concerns.

Just to address this point Crashplan can be used to backup to your own NAS, which is free. You don't have to use their cloud service feature at all.

Haven't had too much of a chance to look at it fully, but from my brief browsing it doesn't appear like we'll be able to work off the file from the nas itself, rather having to download via the web app?

Depends on the NAS, I know QNAP has crashplan native support and I'm sure Synology does too.

Oh read that wrong, yea this is a backup tool and like most backup tools that's really all that it does. Have a look in to owncloud or QNAP's myCloud.
