maybe a dumb question. but are asus boards the only motherboards with asus aura capability? i really like aura but cant find what i need on the asus side.

Welcome to the Forums!

Asus Aura is the name of their own RGB control system other board manufacture's have their own but require the use of their software. For completeness and options in terms of lighting effects and modes Asus' Aura is probably the best built in solution currently.

my main features is the use of gskilz tridentz rgb ram. (biggest reason for aura) nvme m.2 support, id really like thunderbot 3, lga1151, rgb headers, then standard stuff like us3.0 and 3.1 and wht not. minimum 32 gig ddr4. over clocking. and if i could find it the board would be great in silver like gigabytes dezigner board. otherwise i may be following linus in his footsteps painting a board xD oh yeah and to sync all the rgb goodness. :D will be using the rgb ram, thermal takes rgb watercooling fittings, and thermaltakes ring fans.

Note that the riing fans and thermaltake RGb fittings are not capable of syncing with the motherboard, they cannot interface with the RGB header on the board and use their down controller. There are currently very few options for fans that can sync up with a motherboard only the Masterfan Pro and Akasa Vega X7 being available.

i am aware they both have they're own controller but the fans are honestly up for debate. really the only component im worried about syncing is the ram
