if im not wrong, ssd and m.2 last around the same time because they both dont have moving parts, HDD doesnt last as long because it has moving parts. as for exact years i dont know.

TechReport did an endurance test of SSDs in 2015.
The drive that won that test was the Samsung 840 Pro, which died after almost 2500Terabytes have been written to it.

solid state drives always last longer, as the lack of moving parts lowers the risk of the drive dying

SSD's will generally last longer on average. Most HDD's can last you years, but most die in the first few months. 

 

HDD's aren't susceptible to premature death by writes, but rather spin-up/down, parking and inaccurate head alignment (all of which have been greatly improved in recent years due to vibration resistance, better controller logic, and piezoelectric motors for finer movement of the head).

 

SSD's will usually last longer thanks to dying via writes or cell drift (big thing to look for when shopping), but most will die whenever the controller dies.
