Does booting from other things still work?

Also,  if fast boot is enabled try disabling it.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Hey, something tells me that I read somewhere that Ryzen does not support Win 7 or it could be the other way around that Win 7 does not support Ryzen.  Not sure but may want to look at that angle to see if that could be a contributing factor.  And you are aware that Mickeysoft does not support Win 7 in any way, shape, or form.  No software updates, no Windows Defender updates, etc., nada.

But, if you are intent on installing Windows 7, don't use the CD to install.  You can find a windows 7, 8.1 and 10 install media at the website below.  Good Luck.

I hadn't thought of that. Yeah this is probably it.
