I have decided to purchase a R9 290. However, I can't purchase it yet because im about $20 short or so for shipping and handling. And my paycheck won't arrive till the 28th and it takes 3 -5 days to get money into paypal so i can make my purchases. Im stuck now between a couple of choices.

Option 1: Keep the i3 2120 and deal with the bottleneck. If the bottleneck is going to be very severe then this option won't work but how much do you guys think it will bottleneck? 0-5% or more? As long as I can maintain medium to high at a constant 60fps then the bottleneck won't bother me. I can also borrow about $20 from my parents for shipping (I hope) :D

Option 2: Purchase a combo at NCIX for a mobo and an fx-8320 for $200 (+ shipping and handling). I will then receive my last paycheck for the month of $288 and add that to what I have left which should leave me with $474. Should be enough I hope for an R9 290.

A third option is welcome.

Purpose: Gaming, streaming and recording (Not required since I just want to max out my games and play at 60fps. Getting tired of playing on Low lol)

Thank you all for reading, if you have questions such as current rig (Which should be in the sig) I will update the main thread and notify you.

You could look for an used 2500k/2600k, as you already have a P67 motherboard (as a third option)

As much as I like the i5 2500k, i tend to find it out of stock and roughly the same price as the bundle for the 8320 and mobo.

I would buy the AMD combo and sell the i3 + motherboard. Do you have a graphics card since AMD FX doesn't have onboard graphics. Then buy the 290 at your next pay check.

In my sig it shows my current video card which is an Gtx 550 ti.

Anyone have any benchmarks of the i3 2120 running on an r9 290 hidden somewhere? Or even any guesses on the frame-rates I will have in BF4 from your experience?
