Mine apparently failed 5x and I don't wanna update to it now. It automatically updates it though right? can I just leave it there? Will I get a "Update and Shutdown" soon or something?

It should auto update at some point.

What error did you get when it failed?

I've been using it for some time now (Beta Program Member) and i enjoy it alot, here are some bulletpoints:

  • More stable
  • Loads of bug fixes
  • Better protection
  • More Options for personal data
  • More customization

I just randomly found out about it and some people are saying that Microsoft is getting data informations and stuff about what you're doing in your computer.

This is happening on all version of Windows, but especially Windows 10. Their servers monitor how you use your computer so they can target relevant advertising to you. On a broader scale, the information is used to find widespread errors in Windows and see how people are using Windows generally. It's not really the same as someone watching your computer 24/7.

Yes, to some extend they do and there is not much to do about it... But ofc they dont log things like what p0rn you have downloaded and how much it fills of your drive.

Where it said "Failed to install" - You might need to start searching on Google to find the solution if you'd like to install this update.

I still kinda don't feel like getting the update, but it will eventually update itself though right? can I just leave it there?

Yeah it should install by itself. You can also force it to install by using the Windows 10 upgrade assistant.

Bear in mind that when it does install, it could take an hour or more because it's a fairly large update which effectively re-installs Windows. (Keeping all your files and programs etc)

If you have the update, it means that your computer is ready to upgrade to Creators Update. Depending on the hardware you have, and which wave you are in, you may have the update available to you immediately at release, soon after, or months later. If Microsoft detects issues with a hardware or driver, the update will not come until the manufacture fixes it, and the system has been updated with the latest drivers.

The upgrade process take take 15min all the way to hours, depending on the number of programs you have installed and your system speed. On average, it should take about 30min (this includes the first sign time, which setups your account).

Not really.

Windows mostly collects telemetry data. This includes crash reports and errors (as you mentioned) which are all used to improve Windows.

Advertisement is based on what you click as ads, what app you download and use (and that is just for the "suggested app" list, if you have that enabled), the info you give to Cortana on both the search bar and Edge, if you use Cortana. Then you have OneDrive that just appears an ad that you can hit the close button and never see again, if you use OneDrive, which is about getting more storage for a small fee.

Windows does not gather information on how you use your system for ads.
