What is a tray processor? I'd want to buy an i7-4770 (tray), but what does tray mean?

Dont think they ship with a stock cooler either, thats all.

Yea warranty is shorter and no heat sink a packaging but other than that no different and cheaper. I always buy OEM tray versions

Depends on your region as this is now clased as End-of-Life by Intel as its 4th Generation. If you have the money you would be best served going 4790. When things go End-of-Life the prices tend to get inflated as they are no longer in production.

 

Here in the UK i found it at 320 Pounds which make it more expensive than an 6700k and 7700k
