Hi everyone,

I was wondering if someone here could help me out. When I'm recording with OBS my video's are laggy. I always record my hightlights and play of the games in overwatch. When I'm recording I don't see anny stutters or lagg but when I watch the video back it has.
So what are the settings I need for recording?

Thanks!

Could it be that your recording bitrate is somehow too large and you're experiencing a write bottleneck? I assume you're recording to HDD

I had this issue as well and it is specific to OW.

I fixed it but I can't tell you from top of my head. You will have to wait till I get home.

I only know it has to do with setting up a correct scene, has nothing to do with the other settings.

Edit:

I am assuming you have this issue just in OW, otherwise you may have different issue entirely.

Yea I think that's it. To what shall I switch the bit rate? It's at 2000 now I think. My HDD is a wd yellow edition 2Tb.

Or shall I swap to my  Samsung 960 and later swap it to a HDD?

This is your hdd, right?

As for what bit rate to use, you'll want to figure that out for yourself. Start turning it down in, say, 250 increments, until the output video isn't lagging anymore

Those are called RE4s, or Raid Edition, not yellow edition.

I'm inclined to think it's indeed a write-speed bottleneck.

Writing to SSD will probably work but will decrease the lifespan of the SSD, so I wouldn't do that, but it's up to you

OK

Make sure you have Overwatch as a Game Capture, then uncheck the Multi-adapter Compatibility, that causes stuttering in playback for me.

Also, launch OBS as admin.

@WereCat and @revsilverspine

Unfortunately I have found that both were not the problem for me :/

I have tested the bitrates from 250 till 3000 with steps of 250 and there was no difference. And when doing it with my samsung 960 evo nvme ssd there was no difference.

And the Multi-adapter Compatibility was allready off

Maybe another idea what it could be?

Thanks!

Hmm, what do you use? x264 or NVENC?

These are my settings (local recording).

EDIT:

I just noticed that I have the TUNE setting at (None) ... I don't remember and I am lazy to try out but that also may have caused the issue... you might want to try.
