Recently got a 7700K, using a 390X from XFX and i decided i wanted to go 1080TI from MSI, i like their color scheme, and i was thinking about just using the 390X for a friends system to reduce the cost so i was wondering if a 7600 would be a good match for it since it is on sale right now for about 130 where i am

Sell the 390x for $350-$400 and use the money to buy a gtx 1070 for your friend. The 390/x cards, along with other AMD cards, are selling like hotcakes right now due to Etherium miners. Yes, a used one can fetch that much. :)

well considering i bought it for 279.99 and it wasn't on sale i don't think i could sell it enough for a 1070, so i don't know where you live but it isn't worth that much here

It certainly wouldn't be the worst thing to partner a 390X with, I'd say they would work just fine with eachother. Although it really depends on what your friend expects out of the system.

think a ryzen 1600 would probably be better? or would the 7600 be better in terms of most games, because of the single core performance being a bit better

Etherium is the new bitcoin. Miners are buying up the cards. Now's a good time to sell. Even if you bought your friend a 1060 and kept the profits, that'd be better than a 390x hand me down. :)

that uses difference currency than i do that is no where near as much money as i can sell mine for, around here i see them selling for about 200 and rx 480s are selling for about 150

I agree with Max, you will make quite a bit of money selling 390x on ebay (This is in the US also):

Would he overclock? Since that is one of the biggest differences between these 2 chips. In terms of single core performance I personally don't think it would make much of a difference, at least not a huge one

i don't think he would overclock, but the higher cores might be a bit better since h does want to play battlefield 1

i just can't get that much money in my currency, i can get maybe 200 US dollars and that wouldn't get me a 1070 or an 1060 unless it was 3gb or something

Even if he doesn't I feel like it may be the "better" choice just because he would be able to overclock if he ever decided to. I just feel like you're getting an extra feature by going AMD in this case but at the end of the day its up to you.

that is why i got the 7700k, after i got my 6600, wanted to get an overclockable chip just in case gave me a feature and gave me more threads, so i am thinking a 1600 might give him a bit more headroom there, thanks
