I feel like its pretty slim pickings from that price point. So yeah I'd say its alright, just know you get what you pay for.

apparently it was used for business mostly so just some cosmetic wear  i know its nothing crazy but just something that can run games like the isle and ark survival evolved

I mean the GTS 450 supports SLI so just get two of them. Lowball an offer like 2 GTS 450s for like $40. SLI bridges are cheap, like $10 and free shipping.

NO. thats retarded

I agree, it was just a suggestion though.

Get a used 750ti. They're like 70 bucks on eBay and a little more on Amazon.

sli 580s fared no better. the 1.5gb vram made it unplayable tbh. even on medium 1080p in diamond city for example it was just stuttery even tho the fps was okay. fraps would say 40fps or so but it would just be a slideshow because the vram choke

I honestly expected a bit more from the 580, but my 460 did fallout 4 better than my 580 did. Strange, but it might just be cause nVidia fucked up the 5xx series.

How did they manage that? I have owned/ran both SLI 570's and 580's and I just assumed it was garbage because it's a dead architecture that really shouldn't be in use by anyone in 2017. Scaling was non-existent in 50% of the games that supposedly support sli.

no like the 450 will literally run ark on low 720p with 15fps. it would be unplayable you may as well click through microsoft powerpoint really fast

CUDA was very poorly implemented in the 5 series. Games like Fallout 4 actually use CUDA for physics calculations. Power management was a joke, especially with the 580. Dual 550ti's run Fallout 4 and Skyrim fairly well.

My 460 ran Fallout 4 at 1600x900 on Medium at 30-50 FPS, and 60 in some less dense areas. But you're right, the 450GTS is still garbage. People are still trying to sell GTX 280/295s for $80+ on Amazon...you'd have to be a mook to buy those.

... what cpu do you have ... and why did you sell a 1060 because the bottleneck was too big? Lmao ima go sell my r9 fury bc my fx bottlenecks it by 10% and use a gts 450 instead? no. you should have just held onto the 1060

That was a mistake. My 1050ti FTW bottlenecks my E3-1240 by like 50-60% and I'm not selling my CPU and getting a weaker one...Hahaha I got it for $95 and it usually goes for $300+. I'm saving up for a GTX 1080ti or whatever comes next. GTX 2050 lol

Yeah DX11 is pretty much a necessity for A+ games these days, or even Vulkan. Vulkan wasn't even being developed when the 2xx came out.
