How do you want to access it?

For files? Double click the drive and it'll open it just like any folder.

As the place for downloads in your browser? Go into your browser settings and set it as the download location using the directory browser button.

To install applications or games? When running the installer select it as the install directory. For steam games, add that drive as a custom steam library in settings.

well my fiancé absolutely had to download this fishing plant game, so it would be nice to transfer that onto there, and also for files, pictures ect, I'm pretty decent with a computer, but it says my memory is almost full and I'm wondering why when it says that it doesn't give me the option to push I want everything that doesn't fit in the main 100 gigs to transfer over there, do I have to put everything in there manually?

You need to uninstall your game/programs that you want to transfer and re-install them specifying the path, in your case: D:\<Program Name>, Example: D:\Firefox or D:\Steam

As for moving your personal files, go to C:\Users\<your account>, right-click on the folder you want to move, say Documents, select Properties, and a panel will open., On that Panel go to the Location tab, and change the path to D:\Documents, click on OK, and on Yes on the following dialog box. Folder and its content will move the new location. Now, when you open Documents (in this case), it opens the one in D:\ drive.

but you can not do the same thing to transfer the game as you can the file? and thank you so much!

In reality, you can put any data where you want, and you can move yourself games and apps with cut and paste.

The problem, is that you have no guaranty that the program was coded in such a way that it will work properly, and that is not to mention that registry entries won't be updated. Some program might update those, others won't. Making the Uninstaller no longer work to remove all files (an issue if a program has files that is placed outside of where it is installed, and as the Uninstaller can't run, it won't be able to clean up config files and such), Also, it will break file associations with the program that was moved (if any), unless the program has the ability to check for that, and correct the registry (most likely not). Bigger programs like some Adobe based programs and Office, won't work at all. Not to mention the program update system might be screwed up as well. Might install the update program in the old location.

So, to ensure everything works great, it is best to uninstall a program, and re-install them at the correct location.

As for your data: Documents, Video, Music, Contacts, Links, Downloads, Desktop, Favorites, Pictures, Saved Games (shame most games don't use it, and dumps the save games somewhere in your system) and Searches, are special folders that are integrated to the system. You can make a folder called "Pineapple", and you can put whatever images, document, etc you want. And then you can select it, do a cut and paste at some other location to move it, it will all work fine. But that is not a special folder. The mentioned folders, are special, the OS integrates with them. Those are the folder that appears on the side column when you see the Open or Save dialog box, it is the folders that open when you, and if you tell Windows to display them in the start menu (Start > Settings > Personalization > Start > "Choose which folder appears on Start", if you are in Windows 10, which I see you are from the screenshot that you posted). And so those folders, if you do a cut and paste to move them, then they'll be re-created. So you'll end up with 2 folders. D:\Documents (say you put it there, when you moves it), which will have all your documents and files. And C:\Users\<account name>\Document, which will be now empty. So, to actually move those folders, you need to go through this "Location" tab in the Properties panel, which you'll also notice that this tab is only available on these folders.

Hope this helps clarify things.
