Does this cpu and motherboard work together?

Look for the socket number. Both of them are socket 1151 and the motherboard states that it supports 6th and 7th generation core processors.

I`m a bit of noob so I want be sure...

 

do both of the motherboard and cpu go together

Yes they do, always look for the socket type, they must match.
