my motherboard is a msi bazooka
my 4gb stick is a patriot viper
my 8gb stick is a gb micro
ive tried switching their slots too, but the only way i can fix it is to take one of them out. i really need your help. thanks

Read your manual. You will most likely need 2 identical AMOUNT of memory sticks. (and maybe check if you put the memory in the propper slots)

i dont have the manual as i got the mobo used. i also cant find anything on the site. is that a common thing though?

CAN be a common thing. I've had the same kind of issue where I wanted to use a 1gb and 2 gb DDR2 stick back in the day.

Well, considering you are gay (as stated in your signature) you might also be blond. >>> not ideal combination, so that's why I gave you that link. And if you could not find it, maybe you didn't look good enough. Usually you can find manuals for motherboards, even if they are 10+ years old.

i found it but it doesnt mention different capacities....

Always insert memory modules in the DIMM2 slot first.
 ●
Due to chipset resource usage, the available capacity of memory will be a little less than the amount of installed.
 ●
Based on Intel CPU specification, the Memory DIMM voltage below 1.35V is suggested to protect the CPU.
 ●
Please note that the maximum capacity of addressable memory is 4GB or less for 32-bit Windows OS due to the memory address limitation. Therefore, we recommended that you to install 64-bit Windows OS if you want to install more than 4GB memory on the motherboard.
 ●
It is recommended to use a more efficient memory cooling system for full DIMMs installation or overclocking.
 ●
The stability and compatibility of installed memory module depend on installed CPU and devices when overclocking.

thats the only ram page :(
