Linux Mint cant launch programms

i just installed linux mint and i wanted to install steam, i intslled it and it cant launch. is it cause i didnt make the patritions right or something like that?

open terminal with alt+t and type "steam" post any errors you see in the Window here.

open up terminal with alt +t and cope each line in and hit enter

cd $HOME/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/i386/usr/lib/i386-linux-gnu
mv libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so.6.bak
cd $HOME/.steam/steam/ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/amd64/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu
mv libstdc++.so.6 libstdc++.so.6.bak

Did you install graphicscard drivers?

If not install them
