I'm just wondering simply, if I already have a running computer, but I'm just running low on space, is there any reason for me to get an internal hard drive over an external one? I'm just looking for more space for games, and I don't mind if it has to be attached to a usb port. I don't want to open my computer up and put in the hard drive either, I could, but I only will if an internal hard drive is immensely better than externally. thanks :-)

Many external run at 5400 rpm instead of 7200 because of power constants, also slightly more expensive. If you dont need portability, no point.

Please quote our replys so we get a notification and can reply easily. Never cheap out on a PSU, or I will come to watch the fireworks.

external drives are usually a bit more expensive and slower. In addition, they take up valuable desk space and/or look really ugly and tacky. Installing an extra internal hard drive is very easy as long as your power supply has the right connector. In addition, make sure you have a sata cable. Other than that it is realy not hard at all to install an extra hard drive and it will be faster and cheaper. Here is a video on how to install a Hardrive.

It is older Austin Evans but it should hold true as long as your computer is not ancient. PLEASE WATCH THE VIDEO. You will see it is very simple and unintimidating. If you are still don't want to after watching this video get your techy friend, neighbor, or family member to help you out.

internal drives are usually a bit cheaper for the same capacity. maybe a bit faster as well because some manufactures really put cheap ass drives in their USB cases.

... and you don't have to deal with dodgy USB connectors, power bricks and extra space on the desk.
