Ryzen Build

I'm looking to build a Ryzen pc. Not sure if I should go with a Ryzen 7 (for the Spire, which I seriously love,) or the Ryzen 5. I have the GPU already, which I'm transferring from my current PC, so I can spend a bit more. Ideas?

Also, the mobo shouldn't have to change between R5 and R7 right? I mean they are both AM4 from what I know.

Only gaming? If yes, R5. If doing other stuff, then maybe you could "justify" the rgb cooler :P

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

If you're primarily gaming, the R5 is all you need. What GPU btw? And yes, you can use the same MOBO.

I have a few month old 1050 Ti. Gets the job done for what I do. Also, if I get the R5, is there any possible way of getting a Spire? That is what is most appealing to me in the R7.

If you are going to shell out a couple of hundred bucks for a fancy cooler, you might as well get a better graphics card...

They're only officially bundled with R7 CPUs, but you might find one on eBay. The cooler that comes with the R5 is pretty good though, unless you prefer the aesthetic of the Spire perhaps?

I really like AMD's stock coolers. I think they put Intel's to shame. The only thing about the Spire vs Stealth is the Spire has RGB and gets slightly better temps (usually just a few degrees.)

Well it was partially the cooler, but also the performance.

What do you mean? One was regarding the GPU, another the CPU.

Are you going to be doing any video editing or something cpu intensive or just gaming?

Gaming wise, the limiting factor is the 1050ti, not R5 or R7. Meaning if you want higher gaming performance, you are better off with R5 and a better graphics

Essentially just gaming, no editing.

If you are gaming id get a ryzen 5 processor instead of ryzen 7 since there is little to no difference in gaming performance between them and your 1050ti is going to be bottlenecking anyways.
