I don't want to comment on the Mugen; even though it's possible fit the 212 Evo in there, it's a very close fit and people do end up scratching the insides of the window because it's such a tight fit. The Mugen may even be worse in this regard because the 212 Evo only fits due to the bumped-out case sides, and the Mugen's increased width may put it outside this zone.

Have you considered the Scythe Fuma? It fits in the case, is roughly the same price, and cools more effectively than the Mugen 5.

I have but it is too big for my ram, I have a Cryorig H7 I'm using currently so I'll just stick with that.

It shouldn't interfere with your RAM. If your heatspreaders are too tall, you can just move the fan to the other side:

The front fan can also be moved up if you don't want to move it back:

Really easy; it's the same mechanism as the H7. Just pull the metal clips off and slide the fan out.

No way 212 fits in case where max is 150mm. Thats 10mm or full 1cm difference in clearance. Are you sure you are looking at same case? And why are you looking to change cooler? H7 is probably best budget cooler.

Ok, there must be typo on Corsairs site. 212 is 159mm. And I found 2 reviews, one using 153mm cooler and another stating clearance to be 165mm. So you should be fine with Mugen 5.

The actual clearance is 150mm. People are slotting their coolers into the bumped-out side panel, which is 165mm. The Mugen 5 has its fan elevation at 155mm because of the mounting screw design and as such may not be able to fit inside the bump. Technically turning the cooler sideways allows almost any single fan cooler to work, but memory compatibility and airflow get a bit iffy.

Corsair should get serious with their limits. I know even with normal sidepanels there is some extra room. Unlike with NZXT...
