Hey so this is what i will be building next month: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/XYMF9W is there anything i should change? (budget is under £850)

Also i have a few questions: 1) what do i do if i connect it all up and nothing happens? as in what do i do if on of the parts is broken? how will i know which one it is?

                                             2) this will be my first proper pc (i use a laptop that gives me 30 fps in cs) what games would you reccomend me to try out? any genre!

Not bad.

My suggestions:

  1. You have some left over cash. Pick up an SSD!
  2. I recommend an R5 1500X or 1400 over the i5. It's about the same price, overclockable, and gives you similar performance.
  3. If the 580 is the same price as the 480, then go for that over the 580.

The Freesync monitor is a nice choice.

what do you mean by your third point? as in get a 580?

Don't get i5,  get Ryzen 5

16GB RAM is recommended

Add a SSD if possible

Which is cheaper, RX 480/580 8GB or GTX 1060 6GB?
