Hey! Recently I bought a i5 3330s and wanted to know if it was somewhat good for gaming, i currently have a: amd 7650k 8gbs of ddr3 (I think) and a evga gtx 1050ti super overclocked with 4gbs of rddr5. My current setup gives me 20-27 fps in gtav on high settings, (I think the cpu is the problem). So will the i5 be a upgrade, or should I pass it down?

The answer is Yes.Do you already have the motherboard? You can test it out if you do with the RAM of your current system since anything below Skylake and Haswell-E uses DDR3

A 1050Ti can do about 60-70fps at normal textures: http://www.techspot.com/review/991-gta-5-pc-benchmarks/page2.html

Both a 7650k and 3330s should be capable of pushing over 60fps in GTA V: http://www.techspot.com/review/991-gta-5-pc-benchmarks/page6.html

CPUBoss is junk, avoid comparison sites like it.

Cpuboss is terrible for comparing CPU's. Userbenchmark is a better option, still wont be 100% accurate, but pretty close.

I would suggest trying to overclock the A8 7650k while you save a greater budget for a better CPU like an i5-4460, which is almost 50% faster than your 7650k at stock speeds.

But since you have already bought it, it's a bit late I'm afraid... Do you have a motherboard for the 3330S though? If you don't, then sell it for an i5 4460 or similar Haswell chips. They lost most of their "price premium" now, and are considered to be great value for budget builders that don't mind going for used products. Compatible motherboards are common in the used market and are cheap. You might even find unused mobos that got stacked in the warehouse and forgotten.
