First of all, please bear with me since I don't know either to post this here or in the NAS sections. Lets say I have two drives which W10 recognize as Disk 1 and Disk 4.

Since I am going to use this two drives in RAID 0 configuration, some people here do suggested me to do in Windows RAID. This is how I do it:

  • Type "Storage Spaces" in W10 Start Menu
  • Create a Pool
  • Select both Disk

And then voila, W10 says this:

Quote

Can't use one or more drives

Check the drive connections, and then add the drives to the pool.

Both drives are brand new and has been tested before trying to setup the RAID configuration.

Both drives are made by Samsung and are branded as 850 PRO with a size of 512GB.

Both drives are connected directly to the motherboard's SATA controller.

Only Disk 4 can be added to the pool, Disk 1 seems to be rejecting or somewhat.

The rest specs of the system:

Spoiler

Intel i7 7700K

ASUS Maximus IX Extreme

64GB DDR4 Avexir Core Series

2x Zotac GTX1070

Corsair HX1000i

4x WD RED 4TB

Intel SSD 750 Series 800GB

I am no expert in this RAID stuff, indeed this is my first time doing this RAID configurations. What I am trying to achieve is not what they call speed. This two drives is going to be used for Steam's purposes. I do not use this two drives for Operating System, I do use the Intel's SSD for my OS, it is way faster. I am looking for a nice, good, clean answer from those who are experienced or know how to handle this.

Regards, Tenzo

EDIT: I don't need redundancy, resilience or whatever they call it. I am planning to add more drives later for the redundancy thing.
