Currently using the 4690k i5 my ram is ddr3 and garbage lol my botherboard z97m-g43

 

 

any suggestions on all three items

1151 chipset 

either skylake or kabylake 

im getting into overclocking

i would appreciate any suggestions !

 

currently using 1080ti h100i cooler and the thermaltake P3

So if you go 1151 the i7 7700k should be the best option to balance with your 1080ti. i5 could do the job as well, but it probably would bottleneck from time to time. Whatever your budget and workload is. MB is just your choice. z270 for all features, and from there it's just the color scheme and brand to choose from. For RAM you just have to decide if you want to go for a color scheme, or just function. Corsair LPX are pretty solid, but you should look out for Sales of other Kits. If you go for the looks G.Skill Trident Z is just gorgeous.
