So.. My friend and I have almost identical pc's but a huge difference in fps in Battlefield 1. Stand in the same spot looking at the same door. He has 180-190fps and i have 120-130fps with same resolution(2560x1080 144hz) and settings

sometimes it drops down to 70-80
Everything on low except mesh quality which is on high
res scale 100%

CPU and GPU temps around 60°c

Intel Core i7 6700K

Corsair Vengeance ddr4 16gb 2133mhz

MSI b150 gaming m3(gonna buy a new motherboard soon)

Asus gtx 1080 rog strix

new w10

i have also had this issue, the game is poorly made in comparison with battlefield 4.

i have a gtx 1080 and on some maps on ultra im only getting 100-110 fps at 1920x1080, it sucks ass.

you sure your friend is getting that much fps? i dont even get 190fps on some maps on low at 1080p.

180-190 sounds like a lot. I have 2x 1080 SLI, i7-6700k and playing 1440p but I only get about 110-120 AVG with highs to 160 and lows to 70 FPS. I've noticed that FPS drops seem to occur more after a lot of destruction/mid round modification to map terrain. It's almost certainly a CPU bottleneck. I've heard of people with 2x 1080ti still dropping to 60 FPS on Soissons and some other maps.

No chance 190

my 4790k at 4.8 and sli 980tis on 1080p medium only gets 150 at best

abd that's a fuck to more gpu power than a single 1080 even with scaling considered

AMD (and proud) r7 1700 4ghz-

also (1600)

asus rog crosshairs vi hero x370-

MSI 980ti G6 1506mhz slix2 -

h110 pull - acer xb270hu 1440p -

 corsair 750D - corsair 16gb 2933

There could be a lot of things out side of the physical hardware itself causing the difference. From CPU parking to settings in Nvidia BF1 Profile to simple what else is running in the background. For me personally, its always windows defender deciding now is a good time to scan and try to use nearly 100% of read/write bandwidth. Battlefield 1 is perticurly sensitive to drive activity compared to past BF titles, especially early on in matches. Probably because how we stream load parts of levels.

If your going for pure frames, like it sounds like you are. There are some things you can do by creating a user.cfg. like nuking the shadow map resolution "WorldRender.SpotLightShadowmapResolution 256" and it gives a pretty solid performance boost (at least for me and my always one generation behind hardware)
