Hp Laptop Specitifications Problem?

Hey guys, 

I am looking into this laptop HP Y7Z06EA. In the specifications hp wrote hd 400 graphics for a i5-7200u which should be a hd 620 integrated graphics chip. My mind is boggled by this, did HP make a mistake?

Hmm, so if you take a closer look at the Intel specification page you can clearly read this: 

 

"‡ This feature may not be available on all computing systems. Please check with the system vendor to determine if your system delivers this feature, or reference the system specifications (motherboard, processor, chipset, power supply, HDD, graphics controller, memory, BIOS, drivers, virtual machine monitor-VMM, platform software, and/or operating system) for feature compatibility. Functionality, performance, and other benefits of this feature may vary depending on system configuration" 

 

Pretty sure that even though that chip is capable of pushing that GPU, HP can pick a lower-tier one if so desired. Perhaps heat/power/cost? Who knows. But it seems fine to me. Not a mistake.

HP and other laptop manufacturers will sometimes have the CPU or GPU slightly customized to fit certain needs, so it's probably not a typo.  I've actually encountered this before while reinstalling drivers, because if the parts are custom, you have to get the drivers from the laptop manufacturer instead of the chip manufacturer.
