Issues with Creator's Update

I have made a topic similar to this a few hours ago but this details new problems that have arose since installing the Creator's Update, so if a mod needs to delete one, delete the other on please.

 

Okay, so since upgrading Windows I have had the following issues:

 

1) Windows has made 2 partitions on my OS drive that total to around 2 GB and I'm not sure how to get rid of them.

 

2) If I try to run HWinfo summary or sensors I get a BSOD with the error code "MAJOR_PROCESS_DIED". The BSOD usually happens around the "S.M.A.R.T #3" initialling stage of the sensor loading process.

 

3) I cannot delete the 25 GB Windows.Old folder, it says I need permission from the SYSTEM, why?

 

That is all, many thanks - hopefully I can sort out one or two of these annoying issues.

I don't really want to do a fresh install as I did one last week with a Win10 Anniversary Update USB so I could install Windows 10 with CSM disabled (full UEFI mode). I'm only just getting settled back into this install with all my files. 

 

Any ideas that wouldn't involve me reinstalling?

All your drivers up to date? I'd check for a BIOS update as well. Have you changed any hardware?

Drivers are up to date, updated BIOS last week and I have not changed any hardware.

Have you tried using HWinfo with the Creator's Update? Does it work okay?

I don't think I've tried it, but I'll install it on my bootcamp PC and get back to you in a few.

I've tried versions 5.51 and 5.50 but no luck.

Just installed it (v5.50), and it seems to be running fine. I can try it on my "actual" PC when I get home.

Hmm, not sure why it isn't working for me then... I can run HWmonitor and CrystalDiskInfo fine.

Can you do without it? If its causing the problems, just don't use it.

So I messaged the developer and he told me to enable debug mode so he could see the debug file and try to figure out what was going on.

 

...Strange this is that the PC doesn't BSOD if HWinfo is in debug mode, wut? Haha.

Now I just need to figure out how to delete Windows.Old (otherwise I'll just wait 30 days for it to go) and delete the unwanted recovery partitions - which I think I can only achieve with a clean install.

 

Not to mention that I have a butt-load of other problems with Windows sometimes disconnecting one or two of my triple monitors in display settings and not being able to re - enable them unless I turn them on/off at the switch. This only happens if CSM is disabled though... been having it even before Creator's update.

The recovery partitions aren't supposed to be deleted, they're what lets you boot it into a recovery mode and repair Windows. And you can try and see if you can change the permissions on the windows.old file so you can delete it.

Just an update:

 

Turned out to be the ASmedia SATA controller for my OS drive. Changing it for a generic windows driver fixed the BSOD issues in HWinfo.
