Scroll wheel squeaking.

Hello,

My Steelseries Rival 700 mouse wheel is starting to squeak. It's not anything annoying, it's just concerning. I've had the mouse since August 2016, and it's been great.

Is there a solution to this problem?

Any help is appreciated.

Do you have any lube you can get a few drops in?

Nope. Ideally i'd prefer not to be putting liquid into my mouse but okay.

I doubt it would hurt the MCU inside the rival700. I dont really see much other fix other than to open it up which would be even more hectic or RMA

If I'd have bought it in a store, would the warranty still apply?

I'll just buy some of that stuff then. I'm lazy and can't be bothered to do much.

Check with the store as third party re-sellers have their own Return/warrenty policy's
