Hello,

I'm soon going to be upgrading my graphics card and I'm not sure if I should go Nvidia or AMD. The two cards I'm looking at are the 'XFX HD 7970 Black Edition 3GB (FX-797A-TDBC)' and the 'EVGA GTX 670 FTW 2GB (02G-P4-2678-KR)'.

Both these card's prices are exactly the same so I am unsure of what one to go for. They seem fairly similar other than the memory clock, bit-rate and amount. The 7970 has more memory at a slower speed and the Nvidia has less memory at a faster speed with a higher bit-rate so any help with deciding which card to go for will be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Don't forget that you get quite a couple triple a titles with the 7970.You get Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3 codes! I have a 7950 with a 7970 PCB, and I've loved it so far!

AMD cards are better in some games, for whatever reason. 7970 is a little bit better than 670, but a little bit more expensive (while 680 is like 10% better than 670, but 20% more expensive). If You got the money go with 7970 and get those games codes!

Personally I've recently bought 670 and I'm not disappointed. Both are grat cards!

If you pay precisely the same go with the 7970 it's the stronger card and unless you do a lot of 3D gaming the choice to go in this situation. Also AMD cards tend to overclock a lot better at the moment!
