Quake is ruined.

So I've been playing some quake champions and it seemed ok. Then I run into this guys using the champion that looks like a mech. He was top of the leader board with 17 kills and 0 deaths. Just using his shield that stops damage from being taken.
It would seem the skill requirement has been removed. You gotta ask yourself, am I doing well because I'm good, or because I'm using the better character, and in his case, it was the better character. Which says a lot about the game. It's a shame really. I'll admit, I'm no pro at the game, but it's not hard to spot unbalance. They also announced a new character called visor, who you guessed it, activates a visor to see through walls.

I do, but they are core abilities. How else would you balance out an ability that is meant to stop damage, or see through a wall. I do hope it changes, but it seems the road is already laid out really.

its a beta things will be nerfd buffed etc just wait for the patches and final product.

I'm hoping that they change the shield to maybe having it where once you shoot, the shield goes and you have to wait for the cool down.. As it is right now, you can activate shield, shoot and then it reactivates. You can keep doing this until the power runs out.

They are looking for feedback. I'm sure these devs are looking to please. Maybe check out the forums and voice concerns so the devs can take a look. But then again it might just be a test of the character.

Beta, not alpha, the two are quite different. It's unlikely they will change the problem I mentioned too. I wouldn't say I'm moaning about it either.
I made the thread, got my point across and moved on and I'm now playing other games.
Once the game releases I will see if any balances have been made and if not, I don't play it. Quite simple really.
