Video Game Portfolio

I have made a few games on itch.io and professionals in the industry don't seem interested in checking them out.

I was curious if some of you can give me feedback on what I have made at raw value. I will not say what I have done, though my descriptions may. (Ignore the forum subsection if you want to be blind to what I have worked on in all the projects.)

This is my itch.io page, pick any game you wish to try. You will have to download the games. All games work on 64 bit windows, some games have alternate OS versions. The games are all free, so if prompted to spend money, at the top of the box it will say no take me to the download page, just click that. If you're worried about viruses it's okay, this is a request to have you play games, not an obligation.

Hey, what about adding some thumbnails to your games?

I personally think it would be a lot more enticing to viewers if they can see what the game is about/the graphics level in the game.

For example (I know some people are gonna shoot me for this) I cannot play 2D platformers. Just cannot. So it would be nice to see if the genre fits my tastes before downloading.

Want to know which mobo to get?

Spoiler

Choose whatever you need. Any more, you're wasting your money. Any less, and you don't get the features you need.

Only you know what you need to do with your computer, so nobody's really qualified to answer this question except for you.

Well your portfolio (if i can call it that..). Isn't really a portfolio. Maybe choose a different site for this. Something like wix.com or something. (you can host these on your own domain so it looks even better). Add some thumbnails as @bob51zhang suggested. Add some info about yourself, maybe a home page, do something interesting with your portfolio etc. Your portfolio needs to stand out. Although i'm far from happy with my portfolio and i really want to step it up (it's quite simpel and boring atm)  it did get me into 2 internships on the first try. I'm a gamedeveloper as well. Here's a link (it's in dutch but it should give you an idea)

Link: Click!

For your understanding since it's in dutch:

First page is home

Second My projects

Third about me

and 4th contact me

He may not even have to upload them to Wix, he can use itch,io to create embedable download links using their servers.

My procrastination is the bane of my existence.

I make games and stuff in my spare time.

As everyone suggested I uploaded pictures to the game pages, and as preview thumbnails so you have an idea of what you're downloading before you click.

The itch.io site I provided is not my main portfolio site, this is: https://sites.google.com/site/alecguarino97/ (plz don't stalk me and eat my babies.)

I was hoping for more of a critique of whichever games you had played. For instance "This game is fun because..." or "I hate the fact that this game is a 2D platformer!!!" of which I sort of received :P

p.klokgieter, I reviewed most of your website for your portfolio which is very intuitive with the pictures. I attached a PowerPoint file of a presentation I read through that detailed a lot of designs you incorporated within your site. (I understood some of the Dutch from what little German I know.) As I further my google site, I will see about incorporating these elements to my official site.

To review, I was mostly looking for game criticisms, however the ideas you have provided me are helpful and as I have tweaked some elements to your suggestions, I will do so further with the longer term ideas as I build my portfolio.

Well he doesn't need to, but my suggestion as of using another site was more aimed towards the total picture of making a complete portfolio, rather than just uploading the pictures.

I understand this, I just didn't see the need of uploading the files to another site when he could just embed the download links into his portfolio.
