Just putting it out there. Arma 3 is a REALLY CPU intense game. Even a decent CPU can struggle. So dont expect too much out of the g4560 even tho its still a very capable processor.

will be noted, if i have to i can try or save a bit more for a 7600 or something like that

No, don't go for Kabylake. Skylake is okay

Yeah, I would take the i5-6600k over the 7600k because there is barely any improvement in performance, and temps are much higher. But could you tell is an estimate of your budget? The motherboard you choose will have an impact aswell. If you want a 6600k, you will need a Z270 to overclock(Z270 are usually a bit more expensive).

On the other hand, you could go for a Ryzen 1400 and a B350. Which is a overall better CPU, at least in productivity and gaming is simular. Would like some more info on budget, what games, will he be doing anything other than gaming?

Hi! Are you new to this lovely community (that's what I think)?

Anyways would Z170 work for overclock too?

Oh sorry my bad, if you want a 6600k you should go for a Z170. And yes I'm new to Linus Tech Tips Forums, but not new into tech:)

wasn't talking about k since he won't be overclocking since he doesn't know what overclocking is so a non overclocking motherboard is what i am getting anyways

The reason i suggest the "k" is mostly for future proofing. Yeah the non k will work today but in a few years it will become slower, and a overclock would help with that. But since the budget is 4-600$ its hard to squeeze that in.

Instead of a 6600 non k, why not go for a Ryzen 1400, which is a cheaper buy, and the clock speeds are fairly simular. Plus you get 4 cores and 8 threads at a lower price.

i could think about ryzen but i don't think he really needs that many threads since he said he would just upgrade in the future after he gets the money him self anyways a few years down the road

Yeah he probabl wont be using all those threads, but still I'm just thinking why not? Its cheaper, and more powerful. If games suddenly start using more threads he would maybe regret that 4core/4thread CPU.

Quick PCpartpicker comparison

Ryzen 1400: Total 307$ (Overall a better CPU)

i5 6600: Total 360$

though i am still wanting to go for Intel because i don't exactly like the compatibility on Ram apparently and he would prefer to use the Ram i have which is g.skill ripjaws 5 so unless they work i am not sure i am still thinking a 7600
