What would be the best thermal paste for a delid and then on top of the processor? thanks

Best thermal paste for a delid... After a delid, you don't need thermal paste there? If you mount the CPU cooler without a lid, there is only a single layer of thermal paste required.

 

Also, what CPU are you going to delid? Because some are soldered... Some crazy german dude managed to delid a soldered Ryzen R7 1800+, and mount his CPU cooler straight to the chip. He got maybe 1-2 degrees better temps. So there is that.

For non-conductive I like Gelid GC-Extreme. Kryonaut is very stringy and messy but very good as well.

I used liquid pro on mine and it dropped temps 15-20c
